After six weeks of uncomplicated healing, you should be able to return to HIIT workouts. I would take it easy initially to not overdo the very intense bouts of exercise. If you use weights in the gym, would recommend repetition with light, rather than heavy weights. If you plan to include squats and lunges, you will increase muscle bulk and definition, which is probably a good thing if you are looking to achieve a more projected, lifted buttock. However, just make sure that the body fat percentage is held in check or you will lose some of the fat.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Dear Tanisha17,most surgeons recommend restriction of vigorous activities for 4-6 weeks after surgery so you should be able to start with exercises. However, every plastic surgeon has his own postoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question. Recovery after liposuction and BBL is usually pretty straight forward.Patients can return to light activities almost immediately after surgery, normal activities 2 weeks after surgery, and vigorous exercise 4 weeks after surgery. Overall fat loss from a lot of cardio or from weight loss, will reduce the grafted fat to the buttocks but proportional to the rest of the body.
You need to discuss with your surgeon when he feels it is ok to start working out. Good luck..........
Yes you will be able to walk up the stairs immediately, but go slowly. It will not ruin any of the surgery work. Be sure you have compression garments on when doing this.
Greetings, thanks for asking if age is a matter for BBL. As long as your overall health is good and you prove to be a good candidate, 56 years is not too old to have a BBL. To know if your a good candidate you must have an expert consultation... The typical areas to be harvested for the fat...
Thank you for your question and photos. Swelling will last for several weeks after surgery. You are very early in your recovery from BBL. Irregularities will resolve. Discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes on a smooth recovery!
