In most cases, this is really not an issue. If there a problem with increased frequency of bleeding or amount, you may need an additional examination, but this is unusual.I perform about 500 BBLs each year, and the BBL is the most surgeon dependent plastic surgery procedure. Find a plastic surgeon with elite education, training, and experience credentials who performs hundreds of BBLs each year with favorable patient reviews. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Yes, you can still have a BBL performed if you are on a menstrual cycle. Next step for you is to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and goals. Best wishes.
Dear nancy9799,Ideally I would prefer that a patient be off her period prior to surgery. Particularly since surgery will be in the genital area. It's not paramount, but it would make things easier. You're going to be in a garment and having to change pads or tampons may not be particularly comfortable in the early post-op period. Ultimately it's something you should discuss with your sugeon. Hope this helpsJames Sheridan, MDAustin, TX
Yes, this is not a problem as long as your periods are moderate in terms o the amount of bleeding, but this is generally not a problem.Best of Luck on your surgery !
Hello and thank you for your excellent question. Yes, if you are on your period, you can still have a BBL. Of course, you will need an in-person consultation to evaluate you for this procedure. Preoperative visualization and surgical simulation with the Crisalix system may help with your decision. I suggest that you find a board-certified plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of patients who have had similar procedures. Good luck!Best, Jon Ver Halen, MD FACS Harvard educated plastic surgeon Texas “Top Doc”
The most accurate answer will be provided by the plastic surgeon who performed your BBL.I recommend that my patients minimize sitting, even with a pillow, for the first two weeks. If they must sit, every 30 minutes or an hour, they should get up and stand for a few seconds to take the pre...
This is dead fat too close to the skin, which lost enough local circulation for tiny dead skin openings to form, allowing the liquefied (dead) fat to drain. Even done properly, BBL requires transplanted fat to be surrounded by adequate blood supply to heal and ultimately survive to preserve...
Infections are fairly rare after BBL if done by a qualified, board certified or board eligible plastic surgeon in an accredited facility- usually less than 1% risk. The cellulitis they saw on the CT scan may have actually been localized inflammation after undergoing the procedure....
