I plan to have a BBL and TT, I live on the 3rd floor. Will I be able to walk up stairs immediately after surgery?

I am doing a lot of research and it dawned on me that it may not be safe for me to walk up to my apartment, I live on 3rd floor. Any suggestions or is it safe to take that walk?

My advice would be to ask the plastic surgeon who performs these two procedures, as he or she will know how well you tolerated the surgery. I would advise you to be careful in slowly climbing the stairs while holding to the handrail.  Have someone beside you to help as you will be sore and recovering from anesthesia.  It is unlikely you will be going up and down the steps for the first 24 - 48 hours as you will be "bent over" from the TT stitches.  Certainly walk inside your apartment to prevent blood clots.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Walking up stairs should be no problem. You may want to have someone with you for the first 48 hours after surgery. Best of luck

Yes you will be able to walk up the stairs immediately, but go slowly. It will not ruin any of the surgery work. Be sure you have compression garments on when doing this.

This is an important question.  Basically you're asking what your movement restrictions will be after an abdominoplasty and a Brazilian butt lift. Typically after abdominoplasty I recommend no heavy lifting pulling or pushing for six weeks. After Brazilian butt lift I recommend no pressure to the buttocks area for a total of eight weeks. Because you live on the third floor You will have to be careful walking up and down the stairs immediately after surgery. This can be done but you have to take the stairs one at a time and go sideways.
