I am 45 years old and had my only child at age 38. I have very stubborn fat around my middle and lower abs. My abdomen does not seem to change in size no matter what effort I put forth. I am fairly healthy although 20+ lbs overweight. I'm frustrated and wonder if Cool Sculpting the abdomen would help me get motivated again by seeing quicker results?
Answer: Best Results with CoolSculpting Happen for Good Candidates CoolSculpting is really a great way to treat those stubborn pockets of fat. However, the closer you are to a healthy goal weight, the better results you will typically be able to achieve. It might be helpful to think about it the other way around. Instead of thinking that the results of CoolSculpting will motivate you to lose more weight, you should consider that losing more weight first will give you even better results with CoolSculpting. It's not a weight loss treatment but rather a way to sculpt the stubborn fat that won't respond to diet or exercise. It's important to eliminate the fat that will respond to lifestyle changes first.

Answer: CoolSculpting If you truly are only 20 or so pounds overweight, you should still be able to obtain a good result with non-invasive techniques such as coolsculpting. The good thing about these techniques are they permanently destroy the fat cell in the unwanted area; verses diet and exercise shrinking the cells, but leaving them intact to store more fat in the future. My experience with coolsculpting is mostly with patients who are a little overweight or who have had children, that do not wish to have a surgical procedures. I have been performing this procedure for over 5 yrs and also have 3 other machines that non-invasively destroy fat cells: Liposonix, Trusculpt, and Ultrashape. I encourage you to come in to our richmond or tysons corner office for a free consult to discuss which of these techniques is right for you.

Answer: Weight loss timing and Coolsculpting It is always helpful to reduce weight prior to coolsculpting. This will give a better result as your percentage of fat treated compared to total fat Will be higher. Having said that, it is not uncommon for people to treat a few resistant areas to psychologically jump start their weight loss. Hope this helps.

Answer: Better to lose weight first or do CoolSculpting now? In general, I would say it is always better to get to your desired or ideal weight before having CoolSculpting done. You could still see some improvement if you had the treatment prior to the weight loss, but I think the overall result would be better with the weight loss first.

Answer: CoolSculpting and Weight Loss CoolSculpting might be a great way to get motivated. At around 20 lbs above your target weight you may still be a good candidate for the treatment. But it’s important to remember that CoolSculpting is not a weight loss treatment, it is a body sculpting technique. The results of the treatment that you might appreciate afterward could possibly be more dramatic if you were to get closer to your target weight beforehand.
