Good Results possible after 1 BBL/IPL treatment? (photos)

Question

I had my first treatment for sun damage, freckles & redness. 2nd in 3 weeks. The session was 25 mins. The red light pulses did feel like a strong "rubber band" sting, but was tolerable. My concern is I DID NOT HAVE the 'sunburn effect', redness or ANY swelling after the procedure at all. Can this be a normal reaction? face felt comfortable all night. Will I see a noticeable difference on my face after 5 to 7 days? 24 hours later I see puffiness, enlarged pores and redness on my cheeks.

Hi time4mom2,IPL is usually done in a series and the first of the series is done with lighter settings to make sure your skin will tolerate the treatment.  A safe practitioner will ramp up your treatments to be more aggressive and give you the best results possible.  It is a mistake to start aggressive, since some of the damage from IPL can be long lasting.  It sounds like you are seeing someone who is following the normal path of treatment.If you have any questions, please see a plastic surgeon who offers these treatments to discuss further.Best,Dr. B
