is it possible to have an allergic reaction to Dysport one week after injection? (Photos)

It's unlikely this is a reaction to the Dysport, but you should be seen by a doctor as soon as you can. Some patients with milk protein allergies can see issues with Dysport.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO 

Thank you for your question and pictures. It is typically uncommon to have such reaction 10 days after Dysport/ Toxin injections. If you were going to have a reaction it should have happened the day of your treatment, and reactions to Dysport are common in people with "Milk Allergies". I would suggest seeing your Dermatologist or an Allergist right away to determine the cause and treatment of your rash as it does seem to be moving around the body from your pictures. Hope this helps and you find relief soon.

I do not believe this is an allergic reaction to Dysport, given the time frame and the fact that the rash is moving around.  You should make an appointment with either your primary care physician or an allergist in order to determine what is going on.

Thank you for your question and posting your pictures. The time line you describe does not sound like it is related to your Dysport but I cannot say with 100% certainty that it is not. I suggest following up with your primary care physician for a workup of your symptoms. Your symptoms seem to be coming and going, migrating from one area to another, and even precipitated by manipulation of the tissue. I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Thanks for your question and pictures.  The time course of your complaints do not necessarily match an allergic reaction, as your first symptoms were one week after surgery and all over your body.  I do not know what, based on the information you have given, is going on, though I would look elsewhere and see a doctor about this, as it is new and you are getting a diffuse reaction that is recurrent in nature.  There may be something else related to your environment or body that is responsible for this.  Though I cannot say with certainty that what you are experiencing is not due to the Dysport, it would seem unlikely.

Thank you for your response.Simple answer: Yes, Dysport can produce an allergic response, but less likely with your time line.I recommend seeing an allergist to examine you and acquire a detailed history to determine if it is most likely an allergic response, and the etiology of the response.Since Dysport may have trace amounts of cows mild proteins and if you have an allergy to this, a response can be immediately and even delayed up to one month.Some patients can even not respond to the initial treatment, but respond on subsequent treatments. In these cases, the immune system has memory cells that signal a response on subsequent exposure.Any substance can cause this response, such as new soap, moisturizer or environmental allergen.Initial treatment with an antihistamine like Benadry was an appropriate treatment. You may be prescribed an oral steroid such as Medrol or Prednisone or even topical steroids once you are examined.Best of luck.

I have extensive experience with both Dysport and Botox and I can say that it is rare for a client to present with an allergic reaction such as yours. Galderma (manufacturer of Dysport) and Allergan (manufacturer of Botox),specifically warn users about the possibility of allergic reaction, not just to the botolinum toxin but also to the other ingredients. Xeomin, a similar drug has no other ingredient so it is considered less allergenic. 
Allergy is rare and in literature, rashes were reported within minutes to six hours of injection. Yours took a long time so its hard to tell whether Dysport was responsible. 
What is clear is that your should not self-medicate since allergies are potentially life-threatening. See a doctor who can test you for sensitivity.
