Chronic upper lip dryness and flaking after Dysport. Correlation or coincidence?

In the Spring of 2014 I had dysport injections into my upper lip to address vertical lines. I had never treated this area before nor used Dysport. Now I have almost permanent flaking and redness of the skin on my upper lip. I have tried topical treatments and experimented with dietary changes - eliminating dairy, wheat and caffeine - to no effect. Its unsightly, itchy and irritating and I can't wear foundation or lipstick. Could this be a side effect of Dysport and is there an antidote?

I do not believe this is due to Dysport administration which is long gone and always a tiny dose in the lips. I suggest you have a formal consultation with a plastic surgeon or dermatologist.

Good Day. Thank you for your question.This is unlikely due to the Dysport injection. I have not had any patients in my career with this symptom.However, it is possible that the chemical used to clean your skin, such as alcohol, chloroxyenol or chlorhexidene may have temporarily dried your skin.If moisturizers don't resolve the condition, a dermatologist consultation may help.Best of luck.
