In the Spring of 2014 I had dysport injections into my upper lip to address vertical lines. I had never treated this area before nor used Dysport. Now I have almost permanent flaking and redness of the skin on my upper lip. I have tried topical treatments and experimented with dietary changes - eliminating dairy, wheat and caffeine - to no effect. Its unsightly, itchy and irritating and I can't wear foundation or lipstick. Could this be a side effect of Dysport and is there an antidote?

Small amounts of neuromodulators are not likely to cause these side effects. You should see your primary care physician for an evaluation of an upper respiratory infection Best wishes, Dr. ALDO
