I'm 29 years old looking to tighten my neck. I know I have a very recessed chin and that a chin implant can help, but im not wanting to have an implant. Would deep plane neck lift be my best chance at a 90 degree angle neck? I think I have a low hyoid bone as this type of neck runs in my family, and There's not much fat, I think it's mainly loose skin along with low hyoid bone. Any opinions are appreciated.
Answer: Anterior neck lift Thank you for your question and sharing your photograph. Although technically the anterior neck lift can produce significant changes in the definition of the jawline and neck, it is sometimes more appropriate to combine this procedure with a chin augmentation. The chin augmentation can be achieved with either a chin implant or a genioplasty. To better understand the potential impact of these changes, 3D imaging and computer simulation can generate meaningful, predictive images to help guide your decision. The final comment I would make is that if the occlusion has not been resolved in relation to the relatively small lower jaw, it would also be worth discussing the option of jaw advancement with a maxillofacial specialist. This procedure tends to further enhance neck definition and may also provide long-term benefits for dental alignment and overall dentition.

Answer: Is a Deep Plane Neck Lift Right for a Low Hyoid Bone and Recessed Chin? A deep plane neck lift may be an effective solution for achieving a more defined neck angle, especially if you're looking to avoid implants. This approach can help address loose skin, as it works deeper beneath the muscle layer to reshape and tighten the area. However, a low hyoid bone can influence the neck contour, and while a deep plane lift may help create a sharper jawline, it may not provide a complete 90-degree neck angle. For a recessed chin, options like injectable fillers may offer temporary enhancement to support the neckline without a permanent implant. Consulting with a facial plastic surgeon can help determine if a deep plane lift alone will meet your aesthetic goals or if combining it with non-surgical chin contouring may be ideal.

Answer: Neck lift and chin augmentation It appears that a combination of anatomical conditions incolving a family trait of small chin, obtuse neck with possibly low hyoid bone are creating this picture. A Correction should include chin augmentation and neck lift with fat removal and platysmoplasty. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon familiar with these procedures and 3D simulation of projected postoperative result would help you to understand underlying condition and ways of treatment. Good luck.

Answer: A deep neck lift will help in your situation. Hello, Thanks for your question. A deep neck lift to manage the neck fat, platysma, subplatysmal fat, anterior district muscles and submandibular glands can help you get closer to a 90 degree neck. I know you don’t want a chin implant, but it will elevate the result by creating a longer jawline. Consider a trial of injectable filler to augment the chin so that you can get the best result possible. Good luck, Dr. Shah

Answer: Deep plane neck lift Based on your photos you have an important deficiency on the projection of your chin and improving the projection it is not only for aesthetic purposes, the chin is the most important support for the neck muscles, and if you don’t get the support the relapse of the obtuse angle of the neck will be high. Most likely you have large submandibular glands, submuscular fat and maybe digastric muscle bulging, plus the hyoid bone position, so most likely you will be great candidate for chin implant, deep plane neck lift to reduce all elements in the deep neck, plus tighten the platisna muscle and most likely no ear incision. Be encouraged. Dr. Cardenas
