Can my vermillion border / Cupid's bow be reconstructed to be symmetrical? (Photos)

I had a dog bite deep into my lip and the ER doctors did 2 stitches at he top & left the rest. It's only been a month since the injury but the tissue has grown very hard & hugely protruding. Is there a way I can make my lip look normal again by making the tissue soft, even in fat & also shaping my Cupid's bow so there's no lump that looks like a permanent blister. I have gotten 1 injection of steroids and it has made it less raised but it's still very hard & noticeably protruding

Hi there! Options do exist for your lip wound. First, I would try steroid injections with massaging to see if any softening occurs. If not, re-excision of the scar would be a likely choice. This can be tricky in terms of aligning the vermillion border properly, but not impossible. Aside from aesthetics, it's vital to make sure your lip functions and closes well if considering a procedure. I would visit with a facial plastic surgeon to determine which option is the best and safest for you. Hope this helps!
