I've got a very noticeable crooked top, front tooth, it slightly overlaps the front tooth next to it, but the rest of my top teeth are fairly straight. Can a veneer be placed to make my front tooth look straight? Or is that something I absolutely need braces for..?
Answer: CAN A VENEER BE USED TO FIX A CROOKED TOOTH Zack,It would be possible to corect the crowding with veneers but it would take more than one to make it look right. It looks like you have healthy beautiful teeth. I can say for sure that the most trouble free and low risk solution would be to move the teeth to a more ideal postion. With some of the newer limited or short term orhtodontic options available this can be achieved fairly rapidly. Those would either be Invisalign or 6 month smilesAt your age if you choose the veneers you would most likely have to replace them at least one time in your life and possibly more.If you were my brother I would highly recommend just moving the teeth. This will sound funny coming from a dentist but the best dentistry is no dentistryHope that helps,Jeff Gray DDSLa Mesa CA

Answer: Can a veneer be placed to fix a crooked tooth? Yes, this looks like it can be done with veneers, but because of the overlapping, you would most likely need to have both front teeth veneered. However, your crooked tooth straight would need a more aggressive amount of tooth preparation and might possibly even need a root canal. You will see that overlapping isn't the only consideration. The color, gum, teeth width and shape are also very important to achieve. This would be much better accomplished by doing at least two veneers.Braces are certainly a great option as well and I would encourage you to speak with an orthodontist before making your final choice in treatments.

Answer: Correcting front tooth Hi Zack...I do not think veneering the front tooth is a good option here. I would go for some short term ortho treatment either Invisalign Express or Six Month Smiles, which just corrects the front teeth that you see when you smile. The correction is done with Clear Aligners or with Clear brackets and wires and usually accomplished in 6 months. You have a nice front tooth...do not reduce it. Just change the position and you will be happy with your smile!

Answer: VENEERS ON CROOKED TEETH From what I can see in the pictures, I would not recommend " A veneer" in your particular case. First of all, it is not a good idea to do one veneer in one front tooth and not do anything on the other front tooth. It it's very hard to match one front tooth with the other one. But it can be done. But not an ideal situation .In your particular case I would recommend some kind of orthodontic treatment. Whether it is Invisalign, Six month Smile or traditional braces. You see, from an esthetic point of view, you don't have ONE crooked tooth. You have at least two crooked teeth. In addition to that, you also have some length discrepancies. And you can't resolve all these issues corrected with "ONE VENEER". In my opinion, one veneer will make the situation worse.

Answer: Can Veneers Fix My problem? Unfortunately fixing your single front tooth with a veneer is not an option. I think the better choice would be to use clear aligners (Invisalign) to correct the tooth. Hope this helps
