Beyond Excellent. Dr. Strait is incredibly knowledgeable and skillful and regularly goes above and beyond the call of duty, in caring for his patients. I've yet to find a medical provider in any field to match him.
My experience with Dr. Strait was nothing short of amazing. He is dedicated to providing utmost comfort and teaching long term care to his patients. He has definitely gained lifetime patients in my family.
I have NEVER in my life (and I'm 64) had such good dental care. The care I've received from Van and ALL his staff makes me feel like I'd been to fake dentists before. (It is THAT different.) What stands out most is the scientific sophistication of techniques used, the depth of knowledge, and his overall MOTIVATION! He truly wants his patients never to need him again, apart from routine hygienic visits. If you have problems, he wants to solve them, once and for all. Your overall total health is what really matters.
Dr. Strait is a very skilled and detail oriented dentist. He has the most up-to-date equipment and will take as much time as necessary to do what is required. His sleep apnea treatment is incredible. I have had sleep apnea for most of my life! He provided the treatment and now I can sleep up to six hours without wakening. In the past I would wake up every three hours or so.
Dr. Strait is wizard of dentistry: he is a mature guy with a lot of experience, a lot of wisdom, and the ability to teach his patients how to take ownership of their oral health. We have learned in recent years that oral health is very important: gum disease can lead to heart disease or even to dementia. Dr. Strait's treatment protocol is devoted to creating a healthy oral environment. He prescribes a good electronic toothbrush and and a water flossing protocol, along with an oral antibiotic regimen that eliminates dangerous oral bacteria. This is something that no other dentist I have dealt with has understood or dealt with. Dr. Strait's ongoing regimen leaves you with a healthy mouth and protection against potential heart and brain disease. He's very skilled in traditional dentistry - repairing damaged teeth. He is an amazing resource and I recommend him to anyone who needs dental care. His office staff people are great. I have no personal or financial interest in his practice. I am simply grateful that his practice exists and that I have found my way to it.
I have a great relationship with Dr. Strait. He has treated my dental problems and oral hygiene needs no for quite a while and I recommend him to all my family and friends. And I recommend him as the best Dentist in Wilton
My experience with Dr. Strait is always excellent! He has taken the fear of going to the dentist away! I had dental bonding and other repair work done over the past few years and each time I've been impressed at the level of skill and expertise provided.
He is probably the most skilled dentist in the US! His approach is for patients to adopt life long habits to maintain their oral health for life. He does explain everything in detail, his restorative work is flawless. Very honest, wants the best for his patients ,not doing treatment to be repeated every 5 years to make money out of you. His work will last! We switch to his practice few years ago and are so happy we did!
To say Dr. Strait is just a dentist doesn't do justice to him. I had a terrible car accident last May and he and his staff have followed my health status continually since then as it relates to my dental health. They have made special arrangements for my dental care due to my extensive injuries and have treated me like family, not just a patient. He has monitored my situation and gets updates on my progress whether I come to the office or not. There aren't many out there like him!
Yes, composite bonding if done properly will look great, be very maintainable, and last for years. That being said, there are two critical aspects of this. One is before any bonding is done it is important that your periodontal health be good and be maintainable. In our office we teach our patients a system that eliminates the pathogenic bacteria that cause periodontal/gum disease and receding gums. You should find a good Cosmetic general dentist who has a microscope and treats the cause not just the symptoms of gum disease. The second critical aspect is that the dentist you choose should be very experienced and skilled at bonding and cosmetic dentistry. The reason this is so important is because adding bonded composites on the roots and between your teeth to eliminate the gaps and enhance your smile is a very skilled procedure. If the bonding is not done well it can make the maintenance of the health of your teeth and gums more difficult and may not last. Of course this could also be said of veneers.
Invisalign is an amazingly accurate technology. From what I can see from your photos making your smile broader can easily be done with Invisalign orthodontics. The dentist will be able to see the final result via a "Clincheck" which is a computer model of your teeth showing all the movements from start to finish. Unless you are 12 years old any expansion of your arch will not be "palatal expansion". I would advise that you get an opinion from a General Dentist who has at least 5 years experience with Invisalign Orthodontic treatment and who also does cosmetic dentistry before you proceed. Most General and cosmetic Dentists who are experienced with Invisalign will be able to help you make the best decision and give you the best result long term. At our office we have been treating cases like yours with Invisalign for over 20 years with great success. Make sure you do not get an Invisalign substitute. Compared to other look alike clear aligners Align/ INVISALIGN a 21st Century technology company holding as of 2019, 420 active U.S. patents and 456 active international patents. Also thanks to its continued focus on research and development, the company also claims 416 pending patents across the world..
From your photos and history you provided I would strongly suggest that your first step be Invisalign Orthodontics since your teeth have drifted considerably and this will affect everything else you do in the future. Invisalign is faster, more comfortable, and a healthier orthodontic technology than traditional wire and bracket orthodontics. Before you start you should have an overall plan. I would advise that you go to a good Cosmetic General Dentist who offers comprehensive care and has at least 5 years experience with Invisalign. Your evaluation should include the health of your teeth, bone, and periodontal structures (gums and supporting bone), your occlusion/ bite, you smile, the long term stability of any work done, and your personal goals. Make sure you do not get an Invisalign substitute. Compared to other look alike clear aligners Align/ INVISALIGN is a 21st Century technology company holding as of 2019, 420 active U.S. patents and 456 active international patents. Also thanks to its continued focus on research and development, the company also claims 416 pending patents across the world. I have been doing cases like yours using Invisalign orthodontics combined with restorative, cosmetic dentistry and implants for 20 years in our offices near NYC in Connecticut and I see no reason you can not stage the care you need to whatever schedule is comfortable for you financially and achieve a great and healthy smile that with reasonable maintenance should last a lifetime.
It is probable that the sensitivity and "shockwaves" you are experiencing are a result of exposure of the internal dentin of your teeth via wear on the edges/tops or from the roots being exposed via recession of your gums. You should see an experienced Cosmetic General dentist for a second opinion and to correct this, particularly if it is due to the wear of the edges or cusps of your teeth. Also you should note that bleaching can only whiten teeth a few shades. If you want much whiter teeth this can only be achieved thru Veneers being placed on your teeth. Also it is important to consider the overall health of your teeth and supporting bone and gums for the long term well being of your smile.
The best solution is first to find an experienced General dentist who offers comprehensive care and routinely provides Endodontic (root canal) treatment of molars as well are Crowns and other restorative care and to do this as soon as possible. His evaluation is critical, but from what you are stating and from my experience over 30 years of treating 100's of teeth simiIar to what you are describing I would expect that what is needed is: 1. to remove any debris from inside the tooth where the root canals were treated and make sure the remaining tooth structure is sound. 2. to make sure the root canal treatment was done correctly and that the roots are still sealed. 3. to build up the missing tooth structure internally including where there was any previous fillings/restorative care (this may entail using a post and core using the canals to anchor and strengthen the build-up), and 4. placing a well fitting and properly contoured crown. My experience has been that if this is done properly your tooth can last for the rest of your life.
