I recently deflated 375cc saline implants. My breasts are asymmetrical, mainly for that reason I would like to reimplant with a very minimal amount of volume. I am not having a lift. I have asked for the smallest possible implant. Due to my measurements the smallest implants for my frame are low profile 145/165 cc's. Im terrified of looking too big. I am a B cup now with deflated implants, with previous 375cc's I was a D or DD. About how many cup sizes will I increase? Does low profile make a difference
Answer: Breast implant revision hello beachsandsun It’s important to know what size bra you currently wear. Is it a 32, 34, 36 bra, and, of course, the cup size? The strap size is important to know because that affects the diameter of the cup and subsequently the diameter of the breast implant that we choose. We also need to know your height, your weight, and it’s helpful to know your dress size as well. In addition, it would be very helpful if you include photos of yourself. A front view, a side view, and a three-quarter view are most helpful. This will let us see if there are any breast asymmetries, if the breasts are narrow, if the breasts are wide, what your chest wall looks. Breast Implant Sizing (generalization for most patients) 32A to 32C needs about 250-275cc34A to 34C needs about 300-350cc36A to 36C needs about 350-400cc

Answer: Will a 150cc low profile silicone implant make me look too wide? It's difficult to tell exactly, without taking your measurements in person, but it's unlikely that a small low profile implant would be too wide. I would agree with Dr. Rand that you should consider removing implants permanently, but I would also add that you could consider breast fat grafting. A 145 cc implant will provide approximately one bra cup size of volume. If you have enough fat to donate to your breasts, you could likely obtain a similar volume, but would have use your own natural tissues. This decreases the risk of complications associated with implants, and means that you would not have to worry about implant rupture or replacing implants in the future.

Answer: Implant dropping Dear beachesandsun, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Answer: Will a 150cc low profile silicone implant make me look too wide? Thank you for your questions and picture. A low profile implant will not be too wide as long as as it fits the base width of your breast. But I have another thought for you. If you want your implants removed, then why place another implant? If you have some minimal asymmetry that you would like to correct, but you are happy with your breasts otherwise, then you should consider fat grafting to the breast. This would allow a natural correction of the asymmetry with fat grafting without the need for implants and is ideally suited for small volumes like this. Make sure you talk to a local board certified plastic surgeon to discuss this option.Hope this helps!

Answer: Downsizing implants Thanks for posting this question. Usually one letter cup size either way will equate to about 100 cc difference in volume. In your case 175 cc should roughly be about a B cup, down from a D cup. My greatest concern is how much loose skin will shrink back to minimize drooping after your downsizing your implants. You may eventually require a lift to restore a more youthful shape and "perkiness" to your breasts. Hope this helps! Good Luck. Dr. B
