Hello, 69 year old fit petite female. Weight loss from IBS, and years of sun exposure. Other than expensive surgery, what is the best treatment for crepey arms? Have had 3 micro needling sessions over the last 8 months but no results yet.

The use of HA skin boosters or Profhilo where available injected in a grid pattern throughout the crepey regions have been nonsurgically used successfully for a number of years for this kind of problem, as well as for crepeyness of the thighs, decolletage and neck. Be especially wary of claims for this or that, relatively expensive, faddish RF or fraxel laser devicess whose heavy marketing hype to promote their use well exceeds the hard science to truly back them up. Make sure to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist.

Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in.

Thank you for your question.  A step up from traditional microneedling would be a treatment like the Morpheus8. This is microneedling which can go to deeper levels then traditional microneedling but also adds rf for skin tightening. The full results take about 3 months after your last treatment but we have seen great results on all body parts for tightening of the skin
