Answer: Wound at incision after breast lift? Please help! 2 weeks post-op. Thank you for your picture and questions. This type of appearance is completely typical of a procedure such as yours. The point at which the two incisions meet is the point at which the blood supply to the skin and soft tissue is the worst. When some of that tissue dies, you are left with a small open wound. This wound may get larger before it gets better but I would guess that it is not going to worsen significantly. I usually have patients treat these with soap and water washing, abx ointment dressings, and local wound care until they heal. Usually they resolve without a problem and leave a slightly wider scar in that area. I would be cautious about doing too much activity during the healing period as you do not want to stress an area already being taxed. And make sure you discuss your concerns and care plan with your surgeon!Good luck!

Answer: Wound at incision after breast lift? Please help! 2 weeks post-op. Small wounds at the T junction after a breast lift are not uncommon. They occur because the blood supply at the corners has been changed drastically and sometimes a small wound healing problem develops. They typically heal with local wound care. I would contact your surgeon for specific recommendations. Only your surgeon can let you know whether it's okay to return to work. They are more familiar with the details of your procedure.

Answer: Post op Thank you for your question. First off - this is not an uncommon occurrence following wise pattern surgery of the breast. The area that has broken down is at the triple point where blood supply is most stressed. it is the most predictable area to break down. There is some mild redness surrounding the area which is due to inflammation. It is not clear from what you have written and the limited photo that there is infection or not. From the outset I would suggest bringing this to the attention of your Plastic Surgeon as soon as you can for him to assess and manage this further. I would in the interim cover this with a waterproof dressing.
