Depending upon the level of application, you may not see any scabbing. The scabs will develop after blistering. Best to call your physician office about any post treatment expectations or questions.Be careful with sun exposure following cryotherapy as the inflamed tissue is very vulnerable and will be until the redness has gone away.
Usually scabs from liquid nitrogen show up very shortly after treatment - within 1-2 days. You might just notice a darkening of the spots, though, which will still lead to successful lesion destruction. I would give the treatment 2-4 weeks to see if the spots lighten up, and if they don't seem any different go back and see your provider. If the provider did not freeze enough tissue they can be a little more aggressive the second time around. Best of luck!
Hello and thank you for your question. After treatment with liquid nitrogen, the lesion turns red and swells, and then a scab develops and sloughs off in about 2 weeks. You may in addition experience blistering, which is an expected reaction. For re-evaluation, I recommend a consultation with a board certified dermatologist. Best of luck.
