I can pinch even more fat after lipo than before. Is it possible that all the fat that was removed came back?

Bill,At 4 weeks post-procedure, it is normal to feel a "pinchable" amount of tissue because it takes a full 12 weeks (sometimes up to 24) for swelling and lymphatic congestion to resolve from the treated area.  With 1000 of fat removed, you are certain to have a noticeable reduction and improvement in contour.  At this point, the best thing to do is increase cardio and exercise frequency, optimize diet, and patiently await the final result.Good luck!

First, it is so early after surgery that this is swelling.  The swelling does not even begin to resolve until 6  weeks.  1000 ml is a small suction.   Depending on your starting point, this may be your problem.  After you are healed, you might need to find another surgeon.

The fat removed will not come back. However, if you gain weight, the fat cells remaining can enlarge. It can take up to 6 months before all the swelling is gone. Remember, no skin was removed during liposuction. You are still very early in your healing phase, so please give yourself time to heal.

Hi, Bill8000.  If your plastic surgeon removed 1000cc of fat, you should see an improvement.  For some patients, they get very swollen after liposuction.  Swelling/edema after liposuction is expected.  It may take up to 3-6 months for all the swelling to come down.  One month is too short to see your liposuction outcome.  Please talk with your plastic surgeon and let him be aware of your concern.  He will be able to give you some guidance about compression garment and give your reassurance about post-operative swelling. It takes 3 to 4 months to see the final result, so at one month its still too early to make any final assessments or decisions. After lipo, the fat cells that are removed will never come back. However the fat cells that are left can get larger if you eat more, so its important to maintain a healthy diet. You also want to make sure you don't have a fluid collection (seroma) that is making you look larger. If you do have one, you will want to have it drained immediately.
