I read hydrocortisone thins skin especially in folds like the groin, but my derma disagreed and hed prescribed two months 2x a day with refills.Ive used 2x a day for two weeks,some discomfort decreased and i dont know when to wean off but im worried the sensitivity may never heal fully without it?or does it only speed it up? When do i stop?only once no sensitivity at all?Any natural ways for nerve irritation under skin and labia healing(no visible problems,was bit red before)like calendula oil?

Thank you for your question scared.. -IPL is a great treatment for facial rejuvenation. Hydrocortisone is a mild steroid cream that can be used for prolonged periods. If you are having concerns I would address it with your prescribing doctor. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!

Thanks for your question.  Your dermatologist is right, you can safely use it for quite a long time in the genital area if you are still having discomfort.  At some point you might want to start weaning off and alternating it with Aquaphor or a zinc paste (diaper cream) and slowly decrease your dependence on the steroid.

Hydrocortisone CREAM is ok to use on the genital area. Ointment is not as good and is too strong for that area.
