I don't recommend doing home treatments yourself due to the risk of irritation. I usually recommend a combination of treatments with IPL for best results. I suggest adding microneedling/prp, peels and skin care to improve skin quality and tone. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist about appropriate after care. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question Janet Barnhouse. IPL is a great treatment for facial rejuvenation. Many at-home devices are available for concerns such as excess hair. I have found these treatments to be rather ineffective in general and recommend professional treatments. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
Thanks for your question, but you will be better off saving your money. Real IPL devices can be extremely dangerous in the wrong hands, but need the power to be effective. Since no one is home supervising you, home use devices have only a fraction of the power of medical grade IPL. What is stopping you from using the "device" every day? If it was doing anything, you would need to wear eye protection. If you are blindfolded, how would you aim it?Save your money. Do some research on your local professionals. Find out who has the best equipment and experience. Get on their e-mail list and watch for IPL specials. We regularly package IPL treatments at significant savings. Best of Luck.
