I'm 2 days post op B/A and I'm feeling a flutter, gurgling, bubbling sensation in my breasts mostly my left. Is this common?
Answer: Gurgling sounds Dear jule1777,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Gurgling sounds can be caused by fluid inside the pocket but in most cases it resolves within a few days. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: Flutter Thank you for your question. The sounds and sensations you are describing are quite common following breast augmentation and are likely caused by the antibiotic irrigation solution used during your procedure. These sensations and sounds will resolve as healing progresses. Good luck.

Answer: Flutter/gurgling after breast augmentation. Is this common? Movement of fluid or air within the breast pocket at 2 days after breast augmentation is certainly possible. However, I would recommend following up with your plastic surgeon to be sure there is nothing concerning going on. Good communication between patient and surgeon both before and after surgery is very important. Ziyad Hammoudeh, MD
