Early 30s female with Incredibly horrid hands - is hand rejuvenation a good option? (Photo)

Question

I’m in my early 30’s and for as long as I can remember, I’ve had aging hands. I’ve been teased all my life and it’s controlled everything from the clothes I wear to even the jobs I work. I am tired of living my life this way. I have found no answers. Will hand rejuvenation be a good option for me? I’m struggling.

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser.  Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

Hand rejuvenation using HA fillers is nothing new. I personally have been performing it for over two decades. Nowadays we have more durable HA fillers, which can be used to mask the prominent veins on the backs of the hands that contribute greatly to an aged appearance. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist injector. Filler treatment for the hands should not be left to novice, inexperienced injectors accustomed to treating simple smile lines. Hope this helps and best of luck.
