Botox lip flip and teeth whitening

Question

I am getting a Botox lip flip touch up before my vacation, I usually have only 1 unit for a nice natural flip. But I also have a whitening touch up I need to go in for. Is 48 hours long enough downtime to wear the moth retractor for the whitening?

It is generally recommended to avoid any dental procedures or treatments involving the mouth for at least 24 hours after receiving a Botox lip flip. This is to allow the Botox to fully settle and reduce the risk of any complications.

However, if you are planning to wear a mouth retractor during the whitening treatment, it is best to wait at least 48 hours after the Botox lip flip to ensure that the muscles around the lips have fully relaxed and the lip flip has taken effect.

It is important to discuss your treatment plan and concerns with your dentist and your Botox injector to ensure that both treatments can be done safely and effectively without interfering with each other. They may be able to offer additional guidance or recommendations based on your individual circumstances.

It should be fine for you to have your teeth whitening treatment 48 hours after your lip flip touch up.  Patients can return to normal activities 24 hours after Botox injections.  Have fun on your vacation!

Usually toxin products are absorbed into the muscle within minutes. At 48 hours you should be safe to have your teeth whitening procedure.
