Very thin, red skin on the top portion of the bridge of my nose after Rhinoplasty, what treatments would make it less red?

Question

This red patch is partially due to rhinoplasty and an accident. If it's not constantly moisturized, it gets redder and flakey. What treatments would lessen the redness? I'm concerned because the skin seems very, very fragile and I don't want to do anything that would exacerbate the situation.

hgc1227,Without photos or an examination, I'm just giving general advice. Patients who start with thin skin or damage to the skin from trauma, infection, implant, or previous surgery can have thinner, red, fragile skin after rhinoplasty. I would caution against any lasers, resurfacing, or aggressive treatments to make it less red. The risk is necrosis or tissue death. Safety comes first.

Thanks for the question.  I would consult your surgeon that performed the rhinoplasty to point this out, as it is difficult to know what you are talking about without a picture, though from your description it may be in an area where your skin is already the thinnest of your nose.  I would avoid any manipulation of this area in the meantime.  Good luck!
