Too much space between my nose and upper lip after rhinoplasty? (photos)

I didn't get very swollen post-op and I really love my new nose very much but I can't help notice there's soo much space between my nose and upper lip.. I get the cast off on Friday, Will the space decrease? Will the tip rotate down a bit causing it to look like less space? Any answers or suggestions?

The nasal tip typically appears overly rotated (or turned up) after nasal surgery both due to swelling and the tape dressing.  When doing nasal tip work, most rhinoplasty surgeons will typically lift the tip with the dressing to account for the tip's settling in the post-operative process.  These factors are likely contributing to your perception of too much upper lip show.  Please be patient in your recovery, and know that the nose (and upper lip) will change as your post-surgery swelling resolves.  Discuss your concerns with your surgeon, and good luck in your recovery!

Hey Moonlight, good question.  Very tough to make a deformity diagnosis based on a picture over the internet, but it looks like you have a nice early result.  Your columella will come down a bit and that will decrease the appearance of the distance between your nose and upper lip, but definitely don't make early judgements, as the swelling is going to come down a lot.  Be patient and see how you feel when the splint comes off.  Good luck!
