Answer: Can transplanted hairs be placed in between existing hairs? New follicles can indeed be transplanted in between your existing hairs. This is very commonly done and will thicken up what you already have. But remember that prevention of further hair loss is just as important as a restoration procedure. Hair loss has no cure and once your native hairs are lost they can only be replaced with a transplant. Some of the measures that have been shown to prevent hair loss include topical minoxidil (Rogaine), oral finasteride (Propecia), Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. It would be best if you were evaluated by a surgeon who treats exclusively hair loss. He or she can then review and suggest the best course of action for your individual situation.

Answer: Grafts placed between existing hair to increase density Yes it can be done. However, your result will depend on what your net gain is.If you have a lot of weak existing hairs in the transplanted area they will likely fall out from shock/ stress and that would make your net gain lower and the results will be not be as dramatic. You should consider some non surgical treatments to help stabilize existing hair making it less likely to fall out after the procedure.

Answer: Can transplanted hair be placed between existing hairs to achieve density? My hair loss is spread even on the top / crown area. georgius,Thanks for your great question! Good technique to accomplish this is used almost every day in my practice. This technique is used not only to maximize the naturalness and density of a hair transplant, but also to anchor the hair transplant into the existing fringes to create a seamless transition.
