Over the last few days for some reason, my recipient area is getting quite itchy? I am 7 weeks post op. Any thoughts on why it's starting to itch now? Any suggestions on how to alleviate the itching? Thanks.
Answer: 7 weeks post op Hello, Feeling itchy on the recepient area is very common. You can massage the area during shower it will help.

Answer: Itching Generally itching is more common early on after the transplant. At that time spraying with some cold saline or even water is beneficial. I would make sure there isn't any crusting or infection but in general the delayed itching at the donor site is a good sign that there is activity! The hairs are awakening! Hope that helps!

Answer: Post op hair care Itch post op is common. To alleviate itch baby oil can be applied genty to the scalp. Wash with lukewarm water and baby shampoo is also helpful.

This is due to the ongoing healing process your scalp goes through in order to repair itself following hair transplantation. However, if the itching is accompanied by visible skin abnormality such as pimples, rashes or red bumps it could be a sign of infection and you should alert your doctor.
