If so, how long will it take for them to dissolve? What type of stitches do most doctors prefer today?

Rhinoplasty surgeons use both dissolvable sutures as well as permanent sutures inside and outside the nose.  Both types of sutures have advantages and disadvantages.  Check with your surgeon when cleaning your nose after a rhinoplasty.  Remember to never pull on sutures or remove sutures without your surgeon's permission as this can alter your final outcome.How can I tell if I have permanent or absorbable sutures?Black or blue sutures on the outside of the nose are typically permanent sutures and are removed.  Clear or brown sutures on the inside of the nose are typically absorbable sutures and will typically come out on their own.

would search for the board certified plastic surgeon who you feel is
most likely to give you the best results and who performs hundreds of
these procedures each year. I would look at patient reviews as well as

If you have an open rhinoplasty, you will have external as well as internal stitches. The external sutures are small, fine stitches that will be removed around 7 days postop. The internal stitches are dissolvable within about 7-10 days postop.
