While it is well known that the outside of the nose takes at least one year to completely heal (likely years), the inside of the nose can also take some time.  If the surgeon needed grafts for the inside of the nose, the inside of the nose can appear swollen for some time.  This can be from localized inflammation or from the inflammation created by absorbable sutures which can take up to a year to dissolve.  Let your surgeon know your concerns and make sure you continue to follow up.

Great question.  It can be one of a number of different things but I suspect it is either cartilage or a suture knot.  By now the suture knot should have dissolved if it was a dissolvable suture.  Either way, if it bother you, that area can be fairly easily corrected under local anesthesia once all swelling and healing done.All the best,Dr. Remus Repta
