Immediately after Bellafill injections when I looked in the mirror my right eye looked perfect, but my left eye had a lump of swelling underneath. 4 days later it looks like I never had injections under my eye, however the left eye still has a little bump of swelling that has only slightly decreased in size. There is also yellow bruising on the side of that eye. The swelling is a little bit noticeable in my vision but nothing serious, is worse in the morning then goes away, and seems to fluctuate in size.
Answer: Need to come in to consult For unique cases where a variety of modalities could be used to treat the condition, I would suggest an in-person or virtual consultation to develop a custom and effective treatment plan. It is difficult to precisely define the best option without collecting the same information. I suggest reaching out to an expert for a consultation with surgical and non-surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Results With Bellafill at 3-6 Months Bellafill produces a fill immediately after injection- just as with all fillers. However, it then gradually fades somewhat over 4-6 weeks as the temporary component ( collagen) is disappearing; simultaneously the patient's permanent collagen is replacing it ; at 3 months a small amount of additional Bellafill is frequently indicated to complete the fill. Additional improvement over 6-24 months can be expected without further treatment as additional patient collagen is deposited to permanently equalize the effect yielded on the first day of treatment.

Answer: Bellafill Swelling and Results Thank you for your question. Bellafill should give an immediate lift, provided by the bovine collagen, which generally lasts a few months. The microspheres in Bellafill stimulate your own body's collagen production to provide the long lasting fill, gradually replacing the bovine collagen component. Patients are actually happier on average at the 5 year mark than at the time of injection. As far as the swelling on your left side, it sounds like you may have had some bleeding under the skin, which can take as long as 2-3 weeks for your body to resolve. If you still notice a lump here after 3-4 weeks, you should have your injector examine the area.

Answer: Bellafill results: what to expect It sounds like you had some bleeding under the skin on one side, which would cause swelling. This can last as long as 2-3 weeks, because it can take time for the body to reabsorb the blood. If you still notice a lump here after 3-4 weeks, you should check in with your injector and let them take a look. The next part of your question is whether the results will improve, and the answer is yes! Bellafill usually looks good right away because of the collagen gel that is injected, but the real magic of Bellafill is the PMMA biostimulators in the collagen. These will stimulate your own collagen, which effect peaks at 3-4 months after injection, and continues subtly for up to a year! Be patient and you should see beautiful results. We love Bellafill in my office, it's like a gift that keeps giving. Also, make sure you have before photos taken, because the changes are gradual and sometimes you forget how you looked before treatment. Best of luck! -Dr. Jenny
