What is the post and prior requirements when doing the procedure of Cellfina? Alcohol, excercise, traveling by flight etc.?

I recommend to avoid alcohol the week before and the week after having Cellfina. This is to help reduce your risk for bleeding, bruising, and swelling during and after having your Cellfina treatment. We encourage our patients to sit, and even rock back and forth; as this will help to expel the tumescent fluid that is injected for numbing prior to the treatment. Our patients experience this "leakage" for about 24 hours, so we recommend to bring spanx with you, or black leggings to put on afterwards. Swelling is very common for most patients and just like with any cosmetic procedure, is only temporary and should resolve over about 2-3 weeks. Any #soreness, tenderness, or bruising will #resolve within a week. Patients can return to activities of daily living, to high-impact aerobic activity and may wear any clothing. It works by releasing the internal bands that cause the cellulite dimpling and so we have not seen any fat atrophy. You should not see much of a difference with weight gain or loss but this also has not been studied.



Other areas of the body with dimpling, it is important to make sure it is truly cellulite before treatment.





It is common to have swelling bruising and firmness after the procedure. This can last for a few weeks.



It is different than Cellulaze which is a laser. 



If you have had previous poor results with cellulaze, you can still do Cellfina.



Cellfina has shown 100% noticeable improvement and 96% satisfaction in all patients at 2 years. 



Cellfina is designed to be a one time procedure. 



It can be used on women with all skin types but caution should be taken if theres a history of keloiding.





It can also be combined with other treatments such as Thermi or



Ulthera if skin tightening is needed.





We have done Sculpsure and Coolsculpting if fat reduction is wanted, but its best to wait 3 months to see the results before proceeding.

After treatment with the Cellfina System, patients have very minimal downtime. During the first 12 hours, the anesthetic solution from the procedure will seep out of the puncture sites. Patients may experience some bruising, soreness, and swelling. Alcohol should be avoided both before and after treatment with Cellfina as alcohol can increase the risk for bleeding and lead to more bruising and swelling. While patients are able to drive themselves home after the procedure, it is best to wait a couple days before travelling on an airplane. Alcohol is a vasodilator and causes the blood vessels in the treated area to bleed more with more bruising and swelling. Alcohol should be avoided for several days after surgery. Patients are usually sore after Cellfina treatments but can be up and walking on the day of the procedure. Some swelling is normal afterwards. Patients can travel within a day or two of Cellfina treatments.
