Dissatisfied with rhinoplasty result 8 months post-op - advice? (photos)

Question

23 year old woman who got a rhinoplasty and earlobe reduction surgery about 8 months ago. My surgeon and I agreed on making my nose smaller and fixing the assymetry, because my nose slanted to one side when i smiled. My nose is indeed smaller now, but i am not happy with the overall look. When I look at the before and afters, i feel like my nostrils flare more and there's something about the frontal view that bothers me. Maybe the tip? I feel like i made a mistake. Please help.

Based solely upon the before and after side by side posted photos I see a very nice result. Maybe your issues can only be seen in an in person consult? Seek more in person opinions.

Your before and after appearance: based on the before and after pictures you show, it appears that there is an improvement in your nasal aesthetics from the surgery. Your nose was over projecting and lacked definition of the tip area. Now your tip projects less and is more defined. When the tip is slightly deprojected the nostrils may flare out slightly more. If all that dissatisfies you is the wide base of the nostrils, a nostril tuck and be performed in the office under local anesthesia in about 15 minutes with minimal to no downtime.

Dear Coco637,Firstly, I see a natural results with a great side profile. However, deprojection cases mostly include cartilage tissue removal and when performed in excess, it can cause alar retraction which this is the case with your nostrils. This may or may not get slightly worse within the following three to four months. After this time period, you are a suitable candidate for a revision rhinoplasty. A revision with cartilage graft can address the issue you are having and give you the desired results.
