Can I do Dermaplaning if I've used Salicylic Acid in the last 2 weeks leading up to it?

I am wanting to do this treatment but have bee told that it is advisable to not use salicylic acid for 2 weeks prior to treatment but am worried it will cause me to have acne breakouts again and disrupt my skin as it's calm now and breakouts are controlled.

Dermaplaning is a lovely exfoliation of the outer dead layers of your skin ans "peach fuzz" facial hairs. You do not want to have a Dermaplaning procedure with active acne lesions. If your skin is clear while using a salicylic acid wash, there should not be an issue, depending on your examination. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Using Salicylic acid prior to Dermaplane will be fine (as long as you don't have active breakouts). Its a wonderful treatment to rid of dead skin build up, an peach fuzz.

You should be fine to have dermaplaning done without having to stop your salicylic acid products if they are keeping your skin clear.  You might have a worsening of the acne if you have acne lesions and do dermaplaning, so be prepared to reschedule if you need to.  I would discuss the recommendations with your aesthetician and if you have been happy with their treatments so far, follow their advice as far as products.  Best of luck!
