I’d like to know a doctor’s opinion on dermaplaning for the face. It sounds like it might make your skin and pores look beautiful but so far I’ve only heard of this being available in med-spas which I won’t go to. Will it cause thicker facial hair? Thanks in advance for your advice and time.

Answer: Dermaplaning Dermaplaning is very beneficial for the skin. It removes dead skin cells as well as vellus hair (peach fuzz). This allows products to penetrate better and make-up to lay smoother on the face. It is not true that the hair grows back thicker or darker, it will grow back the same way. There are doctor offices that offer this with their aesthetician.

Answer: Dermaplaning Thanks for your question. Dermaplaning can be done by an aesthetician under the supervision of some sort of medical director, but not all medical directors are dermatologists. If you are concerned about the effectiveness and best results, see a dermatologist and they will steer you towards a reputable place, either in their office, or a spa they refer patients to. It will not make your hair grow back coarser or thicker. If that were the case, most people would opt for doing it on their scalp as they get older and grow new, fantastic hair (which is not possible). Best of luck and see an expert!
