Three days after getting chin fillers, I rested my chin in my hand. Could I have messed up the filler?

Got chin filler three days ago and today I rested my chin in my palm while working at a desk. After about 10 seconds, I started feeling pain/soreness in my chin so I immediately stopped and moved my hand. It was an accident since I had forgotten that I got fillers there. Could the pressure placed by my hand migrated/moved the filler? My chin doesn't look different but I can't tell because it hurt so I was concerned. It was Restalyne.

Hi,Thank you for your question. Since it's only been 3 days since the injection, the area is still likely tender to touch. Theoretically, significant pressure/molding can migrate filler product in the initial weeks after treatment but if you're still happy with the contour/shape, likely there is nothing to be concerned about. You can always follow up with your injector if you have any concerns.Hope this helps!

It is unlikely that you impacted your filler treatment by doing what you described.  You probably have some residual soreness from the treatment which is not concerning.  After two weeks you should see your final results from your Restylane treatment.

It is highly unlikely that this would cause any disturbance. The filler would have already been in place three days after the procedure so you should have nothing to worry about.  If you still have concerns I recommend a consultation with your provider.

Hello there! I do not think there is any risk that you moved the filler. It would take very aggressive, powerful pressure and movement for a long period of time, to move the filler from where it was injected. Cheers! Sarah RN BSN
