BBL for freckles on Asian skin. I believe I have skin type IV. Is the BBL safe for my skin type? I know part of my freckles are hereditary. Filipino/Nepali.

Thank you for your question. This would not be my first choice for treating your freckles. I would likely consider a pico-second laser like PicoSure or PicoWay. These devices are safe for Asian skin tones and would likely produce a better result for you overall. Make sure the doctor you choose for your treatment has experience, board certification, and expertise in treating skin tones like your to ensure the best possible outcome.

BBL and halo need to be used with caution for asian skin type and NEED to be pretreated 2 weeks before with cosmelan or enlighte npeels.  "freckles" will also come back no mattter what you do, so plan to do this treatment a few times in a row then every 3-4 months forever.  I suggest you get a formal consult with someone like us that treats many asian and mixed ethnic skintypes.  Best, Dr. Emer.
