After undergoing a 100lbs weight loss, I am left with loose skin and am considering a tummy tuck. One doctor noted my upper fat pocket/loose skin sag under the bra line as a potential issue, as an area that could not be removed or flattened with the procedure. As I understood, a tummy tuck can address skin laxity from bra line to pubis area. Will this area pose a problem?

Answer: Upper tummy fat pads. Hi Katie. I think you’re a good candidate for a tummy tuck surgery. This will help with your loose skin in the abdomen and pubic area. It will help your upper tummy rolls, but you may need to do some liposuction of the upper tummy and bra rolls for a better result. Liposuction must be done carefully in order not to risk damaging the blood supply to your tummy tuck incision. See at least 3 plastic surgeons before having surgery. Good luck. Dr. Aldo

Answer: Can my upper fat pockets under breast be eliminated with a tummy tuck? Hello First of all congratulations on your weight loss. For optimal results, I recommend a full tummy tuck combined with a full body contouring. I would suggest liposuction on your back and flanks as well. You have choices, but definitely you must be evaluated first to accomplish what you wish. Consult with a certified plastic surgeon. Regards Dr. Israel Mañon Certified Plastic Surgeon
