Should I avoid temple fillers and Botox before having a consultation with an ocular plastic surgeon about upper blepharoplasty?

My personal opinion is that I would prefer to do a blepharoplasty consultation prior to any temple fillers or Botox. I like to see how the patient appears before fillers or Botox to get a better assessment of the situation.

Thank you for your question. It would be preferable to avoid Botox treatments before the blepharoplasty consultation.

Fillers in the temple would not influence the assessment, but fillers under the lateral part of the brow or under the eyes could influence the impression that the surgeon will have during the consultation. I would advise against those.

A full set of facial and eyelid photograph are necessary to make a determination about being a candidate for a blepharoplasty procedure. Probably best to have the consultation first to see where your current anatomy is, before undergoing fillers or Botox.

If you already have your consultation scheduled for your upper blepharoplasty you may want to wait and have your Botox and filler treatment after that. If your consultation isn't for some time have your injector take "before" photos of you before your treatment. Include several angles for your surgeon to review.

If the treatments did not directly affect your upper eyelids, but I don’t think the treatments are going to have that much impact.
You may want to hold off on Botox of the actual eyelids, but fillers in your temples are probably not going to interfere too much.
Each provider will have the opinion on this so I suggest you ask yours.
