Pain in eye suddenly 6 months after upper eyelid surgery (Photo)

Question

One week ago i started to feeling like something is in my eye and then it went over to pain in both eye and eyebrow. I massage the eyebrow a lot every day and its gets a little better but then it comes again. incision was tight with the skin, that’s why I’m dealing with a hypertrophic scar also because it was too tight. My brow dropped because of the tightness. I only have problem with this eye.The doctor didn’t find any wrong with eye, but can it be a destroyed nerve? I have pain 24/7 now :(

I think you have pretty good result with upper eyelid surgery. The patients with younger age are prone to develop hypertrophic scar, from the photo the scar looks normal. I recommend you to use St. John's Wort oil with the massage to reduce the pain. Please don't forget this oil is photosensitive, you should apply it in the evening and rinse in the morning. Sun protections creams are useful to prevent skin coloration.

Surgeons are typically not very good at managing chronic pain.
Whether the pain is caused from the procedure or you rubbing your eyebrow, surgeons still aren’t going to be very good at managing it as a general statement.
If your procedure was not done by an oculoplastic surgeon, then consider consulting with one in your community.
