I am a 58 year old female, 5'1", 120lbs with an athletic build, size 1 or Xsmall. My weight was all in love handles. I did lipo in August 2022 but woke up to find I had a small bbl. The right side has a quite noticable 'ledge' where the bbl forces my butt to stick out. The left side has a more natural curvature, although bigger. I am now a size larger in pants and am constantly asked about my weight gain. What are my options without too much time and money?

Answer: BBL reversal Dear surfsidegirl, Reversal of BBL is a concept that is becoming more common as certain celebrities that drive pop culture trends have "downsized." If you truly did not consent to a BBL your plastic surgeon should offer you some buttock liposuction (even though it is a relatively sensitive procedure, highly dependent on your buttock skin elasticity) for free. Good luck!

Answer: Unwanted procedur I suggest you get a proper second opinion consultation, which should include another plastic surgeon reviewing your previous operative report. To get a proper second opinion consultation to come prepared by bringing your previous medical records with you in particular all before and after pictures and a copy of your operative report. If you did not agree to have fat transfer, and this was not included in the consent form, and this was in fact, done than your surgeon operated without consent. Make sure there is no misunderstanding and this is the best done by getting professional input. Well done, Liposuction can create the illusion of having a larger bottom. If in fact, your surgeon did an unconsented procedure, and that is a fairly serious violation, which potentially has serious consequences. Operating without consent is not acceptable and if this is actually the case, then you may want to consider getting legal counsel as well. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
