Would a chin reduction be possible? (Photo)

Question

I want my chin to be shorter, and i mean very short. I want my chin to look like Kate Micucci's. I uploaded a picture of my lip being glued down, when i glued it down my chin looks smaller. Should i get lip injections instead of a chin reduction ? Even with my lip glued down like that i would still want my chin shorter. I really not concerned with the size of my lips and i would rather get a chin reduction, but would it be possible to get my chin to look as small and short as Kate Micucci's?

The correct approach to achieve that amount of vertical chin shortening with a flatter lower shape is through a submental approach. It will require up to 8mms of chin bone to be removed.

Among the options in osseous chin surgery there is a very interesting one with seldom indications, it is the vertical reduction, and seems you are a good candidate viewing your pictures and reading your wishes, which are pretty feasible.The downside is the difficulty you'll meet to find a realy experienced surgeon doing this; I have been doing this and other kind of osseous genioplasties for over 15 years, and no one patient told me ever they were offered this options.Do a thorough investigation of skills, experience and backgrounds for your right surgeon.Do NOT inject fillers, ever.A simple digital radiograph may help the diagnosis and proportions calculation.

Kitty Katt44Yes a reduction genioplasty can be performed. This is typically performed through an intraoral incision under the inside the lower lip. prior to this I suggest obtaining a CT scan of your facial bones. This will provide the surgeon the appropriate information regarding how much bone can safely be removed and the position of the roots of your lower anterior teeth. Once the appropriate amount is determined then you can proceed with surgery. Fixation of the chin in the new position is performed with titanium screws and plates.  Best of luck
