I’m 18 months post op after an open rhinoplasty and alar base reduction. I did not have any grafts. I have a hard notch above my right nostril. There is a mild notch above my left nostril too, but it is not as hard or pronounced. My surgeon saw me in person today, and also at 16 months post op. I raised this on both opportunities and he said I have a soft V. He said it was a good thing, and not a deformity or anything, but I am confused as it’s very solid and bony feeling.

Even though the vape is simply flavored, and not containing nicotine, it is unwise to use before, during, and after surgery. It may interfere with your healing since vapes contain unknown substances. Do your best to stop vaping. Dr. Gross
