I allow my patients to sleep in any desired position that is comfortable to them, after breast augmentation surgery, from the night of surgery on. I believe you and the implants are not that fragile. You won’t pop or displace their implants by sleeping on them; implants are extremely durable. It's always best, though, to check with your surgeon about his or her protocol. For more information on this and similar topics, I recommend a plastic surgery Q&A book like "The Scoop On Breasts: A Plastic Surgeon Busts the Myths." Good luck.
Now. There is no problem sleeping on your back, or sides after breast augmentation . Regards, Dr Steve Merten, Sydney
Hello, I usually suggest my patients try to sleep on their back for 3-4 weeks after surgery, then gradually try other positions. However, it's best to check with your surgeon for their recommendations.
We allow our breast augmentation patients to sleep in whichever position they find most comfortable after their operation. Most women won't feel too comfortable sleeping on their stomach, but sleeping on the back or side is just fine.We also have our breast augmentation patients wear a support bra day and night for a few weeks.
Thank you for the question.I would suggest that you run this question by your plastic surgeon given that he/she is ultimately responsible for your care and knows your situation and the operation performed intimately. In my practice, most patients are able to sleep on their back within a week and on the sides roughly 2-3 weeks after surgery (with pillow for support as well as supportive bra on).Best wishes.
Usually it is advised to sleep on your back for about 3 months because other positions may displace your implants when you are still early in the healing process.
You may sleep flat on your back after 48 hours. I would normally recommend wearing a support bra in the night. Most patients will find it uncomfortable lying on their front for a few weeks after surgery.
Hello Thank you for your question. we usually give support bra for 3 to 4 weeks post surgery. w e allow to sleep on back immediately and pt can move on side as she is comfortable. please discuss with your plastic surgeon about his protocol Best Of Luck. Dr Milan Doshi
The idea is to keep your breast implants positioned optimally after surgery to minimize an asymmetry later. Usually 2 weeks on your back or slightly tilted with a pillow. You will be too sore to sleep on your sides at this point. After that, you can try your sides. I suggest you alternate sides so as to not swell too much on one side. No sleeping on your stomach for 6 weeks and even after that, rarely, to avoid over spreading between your breasts.
you can do so straight away. Best though if sleep on a couple of pillow's for a couple of days. However if this will prevent you from sleeping sleep how you like. Good sleep is important for a better recovery.
In the immediate post op period I recommend ice. This limits bruising and keeps swelling at bay in the early healing phase. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question and photograph. Twelve days post surgery is much too soon to determine your final result and remember, the steri-tapes are covering your incision and most likely there is a bit of dried blood under the tape as well. Scars can take up to a year to fully mature. ...
Thanks for the question. After 6 weeks your surgery area is totally healed and yes you can do running and also do other activities. I wish you all the best.
