My nose is really fleshy and round from the front. Am I candidate for a rhinoplasty? (photos)

Hi Mousebee. Your concerns are common in patients interested in nose reshaping surgery (probably 50% or so in my practice) and a tip rhinoplasty (involving a small incision under the tip) is the best for delivering a narrower, more defined and feminine tip appearance. That said, from the photo, it looks as if you already have a nice nose so it would be worth meeting up in person with a fully accredited plastic surgeon (BAPRAS and/or BAAPS) for a more in depth discussion about your situation and the best options. Correction of a bulbous tip generally involves a combination of tip defining sutures, removal or repositioning of excess cartilage and conservative fat removal from under the skin. All of these maneuvers can be successfully performed during an open rhinoplasty.

As you know, there are limitations on what can be achieved with a rhinoplasty and this largely comes down to the characteristics of the skin envelope. You can get some reduction in tip volume and some neatness by having a tip rhinoplasty but you will need to see an experienced surgeon in order to get some accurate advice about the best technique. this needs to involve a personal consultation with your surgeon who can assess the skin accurately and give you a reasonable level of expectation.  Hi thanks for your query.To address the bulbous tip as your desire you can opt for fine minimal refinement of the nasal tip by cephalic trim by closed rhinoplasty .to harmonise with rest of your facial features.However do consult a board certified plastic surgeon and the go ahead .

It can be a combination of thick skin and wide lower lateral cartilages.I would like to point out that you do not necessarily have to have this corrected. Having a rhinoplasty is really a personal decision.However, if you decided to have surgery, then a rhinoplasty would certainly improve the appearance. Tip refining techniques would certainly come in handy. I would suggest you research and choose 2 or 3 competent surgeons and consult with them.Kind regards.

Hi,You a great candidate for a rhinoplasty procedure. Based on your photos, you seem to have a bulbous tip. Depending on the reason for your bulbous tip- surgery may require defatting the tip, cartilage grafting, and/or reshaping, this will reduce the bulbosity of your nose. I recommend doing research on facial plastic surgeons and scheduling a consultation. During the consultation you can ask to have your nose computer imaged so you and the surgeon can discuss what changes you would like to make. This will also give you a realistic picture of what your nose could look like. It is imperative to find a surgeon who has performed many rhinoplasties; this will help avoid any future revisions. In good hands, you will get a great result.

I can see that except for the tip of your nose all is well on your face.All you need to find a good rhinoplasty surgeon who can do a tip-plasty to match rest of your nose and face on the whole.
