I have a Mastopexy booked, but I'm worried about methods and numbing nipples. Will I lose all sensation?

Hello, and thank you for your question. As a general rule our patients do not develop total loss of sensation in the majority of the patient's will only had very minimal temporary loss of sensation. Certainly this depends on  the extent of the breast lift and the resection that is needed. You should discuss all of this with her treating physician.

Hi there. Some reduced sensitivity is inevitable after breast lift surgery. Some techniques are able to preserve the sensory nerves better than others and it is worthwhile asking your surgeon what his/ her expectations are. In general, the feeling returns to an extent that is is not longer an issue for most people after 6 months. Good luck!
