I did undergo a chin implant surgery back in 2006. It did improve my apperence in comparison to pre surgery. Cosmetic procedure went very well. I was up and running in 10 days time with no regrets. However 10 years on I'm still fairly unhappy with my chin in general. I find it weak and constantly thinking of what can I do to make it better/stronger looking. Therefore, I would like to know if an installation of a second implant is a common practice. Or given my underbite jaw surgery is the way out.

Answer: Chin implant surgery. Can I have a second implant? Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. A bit more history regarding the current chin implant would help in the evaluation. What material is the implant made from, what shape/size and thickness (all implants come with identification stickers providing this information), was the implant placed through a small incision under the chin or through the mouth and finally was the implant secured with screws or sutures? In addition, non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help further evaluate what's best in your particular case. Following my beauty principles, men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles. The following procedures would create a more ruggedly handsome face.If your chin is still "weak" even with the current chin implant, it can be removed and replaced with one that adds additional forward projection to the chin. Implants are not "stacked" or placed on one another as it's nearly impossible to stabilize and secure the implants. Chin augmentation, using a chin implant, to add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have performed many Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. Cheek augmentation with cheek implants to add angularity to the cheeks and mid face. This would be combined with liposuction to reduce the excess facial fat to further define the cheek shape. Augmentation of the mandibular angles using a dermal filler (jaw implants have too many unwanted side effects IMHO) to add volume, angularity and flare to the jaw line. Hope this helps.
