Is 0.5 ml filler enough for a subtle look for cheeks? (Photo)

Question

I know I’ve lost volume on my face . But only want a natural look ! I want to look the same . So was thinking of getting 0.5 ml for each cheek . Will this give me a subtle improvement? And do you still swell / bruise with this amount of filler !

it all depends on the amount of filler bout 0.5ml is VERY little and likely yo uwill not appreciate much at all from that but of course you can start slow and build upon it.  pretreat your skin with vivatia foam and faith esance serum, use redlight after (light stim) to improve the outcome and prevent issues (see link to emeragecosmetics.com). Best, Dr. Emer.

Using 1 cc of filler for both sides of your cheeks will give minimal change, but you could always do that first and see what you think.  If you wanted to, you could always add more later if you want more change.  Swelling and bruising are possible anytime an injection is done.

Dear Chanelle83:I use this amount on the lateral cheekbones frequently for patients who don’t need much contouring and want a subtle change, but it has to be done with a filler with high G’ and cohesivity like #Voluma, and with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is an advanced injector with years of experience or you won’t see very much of a difference. I do think you would see a pleasing difference. You might wish to consider adding more later especially along the jawline to help redefine this area as well and reduce jowling, I hope this is helpful to you!Sheryl Clark MD FAAD

Honestly I think you would be very underwhelmed and unhappy with the results. Any time you put a needle in the skin you can have swelling and bruising. The amount of filler doesn't necessarily change the risk there so I would plan on it either way.

Half a cc of a filler in your cheek will produce almost no result whatsoever. I would recommend having fat grafting to the cheek area as it should produce natural and permanent results. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City plastic surgery

I am sorry to inform you, but one syringe will make essentially no difference in you. Your volume loss is significantly more than that. In fact, I would not be surprised if it took 2 syringes per side. I also would not allow anyone who agrees to "start with 0.5 ml per side" to inject me, as that person is not an expert. Also, you need a heavier filler mostly placed deep. Do not allow anyone to inject Restylane or Juvederm Ultra.
