I came across multiple studies on the internet that show topical finasteride 0.1%-0.25% is almost as effective as oral finasteride in treating androgenic alopecia. However many doctors (on youtube/internet forums) say topical finasteride is a hoax and does not work. Have any of you tried administering topical finasteride or have seen benefits of it in your experience?
Answer: Hair Transplant Hello dear patient Thank you for your question, you can buy finasterid with 5% and divide on two pieces take one piece a day you may see the results.

Answer: Does topical finasteride work? Yes, topical finasteride works. It does not work in everyone and not everyone with androgenetic hair loss should be using it. But it is an option and yes, it helps many. Remember there are about 40 different topical finasteride formulations depending on concentration of finasteride and the base used and other additives. Anyone who says topical finasteride does not work either a) has not found a base or formula that works well and so continues to use a useless or minimally useful formulation or b) has not treated enough patients in his or her lifetime to make a credible opinion about the effectiveness of finasteride or c) is not actually treating androgenetic hair loss in their patient and so is confused about the treatment outcome that is being seen or d) has a conflict of interest about selling another product or service that causes them to have this opinion. Of course, a combination of the above is possible. This is a strange world we live in. We have people who give opinions and have never prescribed or used a treatment before or have only used a few times. Topical finasteride does work but only a good formulation works well at the right concentration. If a person thinks 0.00000001% is going to work as well as .1 % he or she is mistaken. If a patient thinks topical finasteride is going to be strongly recommended by a clinic that mainly offers PRP or hair transplants or SMP or laser with the same enthusiasm that they speak about topical finasteride they are also mistaken. Be wise. Do your own research. Think about the big picture. Caveat emptor.
