Been to many dermatologists. And for years i took tablets and hair care pills such as telovium biotin kerozan dHt 5 mg biotin and xpecia. I studied abroad for 1 year in Canada and due to insane amount of stress and insane weight loss when i returned i lost nearly all my hair density all over my scalp ex. For my very back donor area. In last 10 months dermatologists said i dont have genetic hair loss then they changed their minds. Any help? Vitamin levels are completely normal. Hair is same 2 years.

Answer: Hair transplant calls.. Hello Bozzy2k1,After stressful experiences and losing weight for high amounts, humans may have a huge amount of hair loss. It is normal to face such a sad side effect. In your case, as the reason of hair loss is not hormonal or genetic, supplements and hair loss tablets will not work as you imagine. You should undergo a hair transplant treatment before your donor area will get weaker. You already lost hair from the donor area and it will affect the possible outcomes of hair transplant. However, you should keep your expectations moderate and you should consider about hair transplant procedure. Have a great day!

Answer: Early Male Hair Loss It sounds like you have had some very thorough evaluations and treatment. I do suspect you have some strong Male Pattern Hair Loss on one or both sides of your family genetically. Fortunately, you are exploring possibilities of treatment while you still have some hair!! Just remember that usually you have to loose about 50% hair volume to start seeing through to the scalp. Whatever you do DON"T have hair surgery!!. It sounds like you have had hormonal and vitamin-mineral evaluations. If you have not had a scalp biopsy it would be helpful to do two 4 mm scalp biopsies performed by your dermatologist. From my nearly 30 years of hair transplant surgery experience it looks to me like you are heading toward "DUPA" (diffuse un patterned alopecia). Your best option for treatment would be Minoxidil 5% twice daily faithfully, Laser cap (eg Capillus, Bosley) When the cap is used I would use double dose sliding the cap all the way above the right ear, then all the way to just above the left ear. Finasteride 1 mg daily if you are willing to a take a small side effect risk. I have personally taken it for 20 years with no problems as well as thousands of patients. I would use all three for 1 year and observe changes. Remember improvement in hair density is slow, and usually the maximum benefit you will observe with a particular treatment takes about 1 year! So be patient.

Answer: Is this too fast? I would need to see your scalp up close to advise you. Yes, you could have DUPA but certainly you’ll want to make sure you are not missing a telogen effluvium or early diffuse lichen planopilaris. These would be uncommon. If you have doubts, then a biopsy will clarify your doubts. You will want to make sure you have had blood tests for CBC, TSH, ferritin, cholesterol, ANA, testosterone, zinc. You and your doctors can decide if other tests like screens for STDs are necessary. All of these can contribute to hair loss so a full evaluation is needed. The most likely scenario is that a diffuse androgenetic alopecia is evolving. It’s not the only possible cause of course.
