Eyelid Retraction repair, how long will it take to heal, I'm still red and puffy after 4 weeks.

I had surgery for lower eyelid retraction repair: ear cartilage and after 4 weeks is still red and puffy . can anyone tell me how long it will be heel and if this roll from under my eye will go down? Thank you.

Need photography to tell accurately what is going on. In general, it takes 3 months for eyelid healing, especially if spacer graft (ear cartilage) is placed. You can email me directly with photos if you want, so I can better help you. If no spacer graft was placed, healing would have been faster.

You issue may just be slow healing or it may be something structural that is unlike to progress.  A photograph will be helpful to understand your concern.

Swelling after your eyelid surgery one month after surgery can be typical, especially with a graft. It can take 3-6 months for final healing. If you are having pain and redness with swelling, however, you should notify your surgeon for the risk of infection. Good luck.
