Soprano Ice Platinum or Lightsheer Duet?

Question

I have been having laser hair removal with Alex for about a year. It has worked in some places but in other areas I have experienced stimulated hair growth. Some hairs are long and dark whilst others are light brown. I am fair skinned. I will be going to another more reputable salon when my current package ends and I thought a different type of laser might be more suitable for me. Which laser is the most effective on finer hairs?

Thanks for your question.  We see it all of the time on this site:  "What's the BEST"???  There is no answer.  While each device should leave the factory the same, each one will act differently.  Much of your treatment will depend on the overall power of the device, how well it has been cared for, the settings used and the technique of the provider.  If the device isn't regularly serviced and calibrated or they fail to clean the lenses properly (it happens!), you won't get an effective treatment.
For LHR, you have to understand how it works.  Hair removal lasers are targeting for the pigment in the hair shaft.  The laser energy follows the hair shaft down into the follicle, heats it and destroys its ability to produce another hair.  If you have waxed or plucked the hair shaft out of the follicle, there is no target left for the laser and the follicle will produce another hair.  Similarly, if the hair shafts are fine or lack sufficient pigment, the laser will not treat the follicle.  Dyeing your hair will not the portion in the follicle and will have no effect on LHR.  You MUST SHAVE prior to LHR treatments, otherwise hair on the surface can absorb the energy you could have string shaped superficial burns.Look for an office with a physician present, lots of treatment options and excellent reviews.  If other people had results good enough to write a glowing review, you will probably get one too.  Find the office where you will have the best experience.  I hope this helps.
