Hello please can you advise if I can shave my donor area I have very bad recovery from my Fue 1 month now 5000 grafts and the donor area is healing slowly ..I have to work so don't want to wear a hat everyday if I cut my donor area hair to a grade 1 would that effect recovery of the donor area would be greatful for answer anything I can use to help recover post op

It is best to contact your doctor about post operative care and instructions since each doctor has a different regimen.There should be no issue with shaving your head.

Yes you can shave the donor area without any consequence. The hair should be growing back already. A concern can be that the area was over harvested. 5 thousand grafts is a bit high for extracting in one setting. It's important to spread the extraction over a large area so as to not leave a footprint that a procedure was done.

Many people can not tolerate 5000 FUE grafts taken from the donor area without ending up with donor site depletion and donor site balding. I am afraid you may be in that situation.  If this continues to be a problem by the 5th month, you may need to look into Scalp Micropigmentaiton to address the balding area
