Yes you can shave the donor area without any consequence.  The hair should be growing back already.  A concern can be that the area was over harvested.  5 thousand grafts is a bit high for extracting in one setting.  It's important to spread the extraction over a large area so as to not leave a footprint that a procedure was done.

Many people can not tolerate 5000 FUE grafts taken from the donor area without ending up with donor site depletion and donor site balding. I am afraid you may be in that situation.  If this continues to be a problem by the 5th month, you may need to look into Scalp Micropigmentaiton to address the balding area
